About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications
  • Write and review JavaScript, CSS, and HTML code
  • Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to build holistic user experiences
  • Help define and interact with REST-based APIs
  • Troubleshoot customer-reported application issues and provide support
  • Write unit tests and conduct quality assurance testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, but it is not required on day one
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • 5+ years of front end software development/engineering experience and a Bachelor's in a related field; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge or experience with JavaScript and one or more web application frameworks (Vue, React, Angular, Backbone, or similar demonstrated competency)
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control software
  • Comfortable working on a *nix command line
  • Self-motivation and ability to multi-task and prioritize open issues/tickets
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification (e.g. Security+) within 60 days of hire
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, averaging 1–2 days per week at the Columbia, MD office
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes as needed
  • Previous experience with a data warehouse is preferred
