About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary actuarial lead for the Management Liability business
  • Provide actuarial insights and subject matter expertise for EPLI, Crime, and D&O coverages
  • Conduct pricing analyses and reserving analyses
  • Maintain rates and support state-by-state rate filings
  • Coordinate annual planning activities
  • Provide strategic business support
  • Develop tools to measure and monitor Management Liability profitability
  • Identify trends in claim frequency and severity
  • Create reports measuring rate, action taken, retention, and new business growth
  • Develop and maintain a capital allocation model for risk-adjusted business-unit performance
  • Gather and analyze data and communicate results across the organization
  • Estimate and recommend loss reserves for financial statements
  • Determine product rates
  • Develop rate-making templates
  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, IT, and senior management on new or improved products
  • Provide an economic view of reinsurance purchase options
  • Potentially supervise and matrix-manage analytics professionals
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
  • Solid background in the P&C commercial insurance space
  • Familiarity with typical Management Liability forms/rules
  • Ability to self-motivate and drive to succeed
  • Prior experience of demonstrated goal achievement
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Experience providing on-the-job training to staff or through management
  • Experience working with direct management reports and extended actuarial and business intelligence staff
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require visa sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • FCAS preferred but not required
