About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to make Technology Ireland’s strategic vision a reality
  • Manage relationships with members and key stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for growth and development that add value to Technology Ireland and the tech sector
  • Ensure Technology Ireland, Board, Council, working group and affiliate group objectives are identified and met through action plans
  • Work closely with the Director to identify opportunities and synergies across the association and broader environment
  • Lead the day-to-day management of Technology Ireland working groups
  • Raise the profile and reputation of the technology sector and make recommendations
  • Develop and lead work programmes delivering Technology Ireland’s strategic pillars
  • Develop and implement the annual work programme under the Director’s guidance
  • Manage organisation-wide initiatives and projects collaboratively
  • Monitor and support sector strategy and objectives
  • Implement strategy and objectives set by the Board
  • Ensure compliance with the Ibec Trade Association Handbook
  • Support strategic oversight of commercial targets
  • Collect membership subscriptions and generate new membership opportunities
  • Manage budgets
  • Articulate and communicate the member value proposition
  • Provide key account management for Technology Ireland members
  • Represent the industry to key stakeholders
  • Analyse, drive and respond to legislative, regulatory and skills policy developments
  • Represent the tech industry and associated Ibec trade associations with the Director
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior executives in member companies
  • Deliver member services, meetings, events and networking
  • Manage media relations and act as spokesperson on agreed activities
  • Deputise for the Director where appropriate
  • Retain and recruit Technology Ireland members year on year
  • Contribute to Ibec’s strategy and work through an integrated service delivery framework

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hold a primary degree in a relevant discipline
  • Additional relevant postgraduate/professional qualifications would be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of the tech sector, policy and regulations
  • Clear understanding and insight into issues driving the sector
  • Ideally at least 5 years relevant experience, e.g. in a representational, policy or legal capacity
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Excellent lobbying and networking skills
  • Track record of influencing key decision makers through advocacy and engagement
  • Partnership-based approach to policy development
  • Commitment to developing innovative models for member engagement and new member services
  • Strong leadership capability and potential to develop further
  • Ability to analyse complex policy proposals and determine their impact on the technology industry
  • Ability to translate analysis into cogent policy positions and communicate them effectively through various media
  • Ability to work under pressure; resilient and resourceful
  • Strong project management skills
  • Team player capable of delivering results
  • Articulate, confident, and highly professional
