About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure compliance commitments for Gas and Hydro Engineering and Operations across all Avangrid Gas Companies
- Work closely with the business and bridge Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance staff
- Serve as point of contact to Regulatory Agencies
- Identify new and revised regulatory guidance and create communication paths to business units
- Verify implementation of regulatory requirements by collecting evidence of updated processes, operations, training, policies, and procedures
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on day-to-day operational compliance needs, implementations, and corrective action plans
- Coordinate Compliance team activities and report to leadership
- Assign tasks and establish team goals with the direct manager
- Report and advise on proposed Federal or State regulatory changes
- Manage projects in partnership with the business
- Ensure actionable compliance directives are understood, addressed, and supported by implementation evidence
- Validate business action plans and challenge inappropriate plans to ensure risk mitigation
- Create action plans targeting violation reductions and drive proactive SOP changes
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures
- Coordinate timely and accurate responses to regulatory requests
- Establish communication channels with Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and other stakeholders
- Coordinate proactive self-assessments for compliance risk identification
- Act as liaison during regulatory audits and field visits/inspections
- Participate in recurring meetings with Regulatory Agencies
- Provide leadership updates on potential impacts to the Gas Business
- Monitor and escalate risks to Senior Leadership
- Define controls, documentation, and effectiveness assessments
- Participate in incident investigations with business, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years total professional experience
- Experience with Performance Operational/Metrics
- Experience with reporting and tracking deadlines when working across different departments
- Ability to lead teams and work in a team environment
- Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
- Ability to assist and develop employees
- Ability to work in cross functional environmental
- Understanding of Natural Gas Industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Public presentation skills and ability to summarize concepts presented accordingly
- Results oriented
- MBA preferred
