About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Travel throughout the assigned region to capture patients’ retinal images for diagnostic review and potential treatment recommendations
  • Capture diabetic patients’ retinal images using a non-mydriatic fundus camera or automatic digital camera
  • Educate patients and set expectations regarding the retinal screening purpose and process
  • Upload and transmit patient images and reports through an online portal during or immediately after screenings
  • Travel to screening locations and perform screening preparation and wrap-up duties
  • Collaborate with remote team members, management, and screening location staff
  • Identify process improvements with staff and perform other duties assigned by management
  • Work with patients in physician offices and their homes
  • Coordinate patient flow with medical staff at various offices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Two years of experience in a medical professional environment involving customer or patient interaction, or experience in eye care
  • Professional communication with patients and staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Promptness, organization, and excellent time management
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn company software systems
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Focus on quality outcomes and established goals
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Reliable transportation for local travel to screenings
  • Ability to travel overnight
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Creole
