About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Research the economic dynamics of low carbon and renewable transportation fuels
- Assist in developing and improving price forecasts for the California Low Carbon Fuel Standard, Renewable Fuel Standard, Canada Clean Fuel Regulations, and other emerging compliance markets
- Conduct market research on biofuel industry segments
- Develop and maintain economic forecast models for North American low carbon and renewable transportation fuel markets
- Analyze the economic implications of state, provincial, and federal regulatory developments
- Write insightful and accurate market reports on the biofuel and low carbon fuel industry
- Collaborate with ICF teams to gather expertise for client needs
- Support investors, developers, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations in developing and maintaining energy assets and implementing programs
- Work in a collaborative consulting team environment with clients and experts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Environmental Policy, Environmental Sciences, or related disciplines and 2+ years of relevant energy industry experience, or Master’s degree plus 1 year of industry and/or internship experience
- Experience programming in Python, Stata, Matlab, or VBA, or willingness to learn
- Close attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with a remote team
- Biofuel and/or low carbon transportation fuel market experience preferred
- Understanding of agriculture and other feedstock markets a plus
- Experience programming in R, Python, Matlab, or VBA preferred
- Previous consulting experience preferred
- Strong modeling skills preferred
