About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct applied research and provide consulting services for national-level safety, environmental, and policy programs
  • Analyze and synthesize rulemaking documents, literature, and technical reports
  • Perform cost-benefit, statistical/econometric, and other quantitative analyses
  • Develop analytical methods, databases, and models in tools such as R and Excel
  • Draft and edit rulemaking support documents
  • Provide general program support
  • Collaborate with economists, scientists, engineers, and other interdisciplinary team members
  • Communicate directly with clients
  • Contribute to expanding the business

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, or a related discipline
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Experience with data analysis and modeling approaches and scripting software such as R, Stata, or Python
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently under strict deadlines
  • Skills working with economic, environmental, and/or survey data
  • Knowledge of policy and regulatory analysis methods
  • Knowledge of the federal rulemaking process
  • Knowledge of federal environmental, labor, and transportation safety regulations
  • Prior consulting experience is highly desirable
