About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop written materials and analyses for EAs, EISs, or categorical exclusions
  • Support meetings with clients or other stakeholders by preparing agendas and meeting summaries
  • Support federal, state, and local permitting and compliance for traditional and renewable energy, transmission, land use planning, and other projects in compliance with NEPA and other regulations
  • Review NEPA documents prepared by the applicant’s contractor
  • Review environmental components of applications
  • Support the Project Management team
  • Work on multiple projects and interact with all levels of staff
  • Work directly with clients, senior staff, and internal and external subject-matter experts
  • Assist in planning and completing major project tasks and delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in natural or physical science, urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental management or related subjects
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including ability to prioritize and multi-task under strict deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to succeed with new and challenging tasks
  • Ability to set challenging, measurable and sustainable goals in collaboration with manager(s)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients to achieve established goals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
