About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct comprehensive home energy assessments in residential single-family and manufactured homes
  • Conduct field visits and site walk-throughs
  • Collect information on appliances, HVAC equipment, building envelope, and windows
  • Install LED lamps, smart power strips, and other energy-saving devices
  • Enter detailed data and measurements into the program software tool
  • Document field activities and assist in monitoring program goals and eligible project completion
  • Interact with homeowners and tenants, answer energy-efficiency questions, and recommend next steps
  • Promote adoption of recommended energy-saving measures
  • Coordinate with or follow up on quality assurance activities, field inspections, and customer surveys
  • Prepare summary reports identifying opportunities
  • Perform introductory tablet energy audits
  • Investigate energy-consumption drivers and troubleshoot home comfort issues
  • Attend community events and home and trade shows to promote and register homeowners
  • Support utility-sponsored energy-efficiency programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
  • Able to lift boxes no heavier than 30 pounds
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Able to drive, walk, stand, install light bulbs and equipment, and perform above-head arm movements
  • Certified RESNET HERS Rater, HESP or equivalent experience
  • Experience with energy audits and promoting energy efficiency in the residential sector
  • BPI certified Building Analyst
  • Willingness to obtain required certification within six months of hire
  • Experience with energy modeling software
  • Understanding of building science applications or construction background
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
