Key responsibilities & impact

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in environmental science, climate science, sustainability, engineering, urban or regional planning, public policy, natural resources, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in climate change or resilience, conducting system-level risk and vulnerability assessments
  • Experience managing project tasks, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client relationships
  • Experience overseeing, mentoring, or developing junior staff
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook in a professional work environment
  • Previous experience working for or with state or local government organizations preferred
  • Experience in climate change or resilience topics, state and municipal infrastructure financing, urban planning, overseeing or mentoring staff, and/or managing tasks or projects preferred
  • Comfort working with GIS, R, and/or Python preferred
  • Experience developing climate adaptation and resiliency plans preferred
  • Certified Floodplain Manager or AICP-certification is a plus
  • Experience with adaptation financing/funding is a plus
  • Ability to understand broader project goals and break work into logical, manageable steps
  • Comfort working with data and scientific information
  • Excellent communication skills, including synthesizing detailed and complex information, identifying salient points, and explaining it clearly
  • Experience facilitating efficient and effective meetings
