About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support research and development of new cyber analytic capabilities for a federal cybersecurity analytic program
- Analyze cyber-attack methods, vulnerability exploitation, hostile cyber actor behavior, and data anomalies
- Work with customers, program subject matter experts, and researchers to evolve, automate, and enhance cybersecurity capabilities
- Provide software engineering development and support, including oversight for other personnel
- Work closely with cyber personnel to understand manual analytic processes and automate them
- Create automated analytic capability sets, including signature, behavioral, heuristic, anomalous, unsupervised-learning, predictive, and emerging capabilities
- Develop new platforms to elicit operational effect
- Support design, development, and deployment of production systems using CI/CD pipelines
- Provide post-deployment support and continuous analysis throughout the capability lifecycle
- Analyze information, refine analytics, select countermeasures, review output, and improve analytics and countermeasure performance
- Attend occasional meetings at client locations or ICF facilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Development OR equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience, with at least an additional 5 years of applicable experience
- Minimum 1 year of Python Development experience
- Minimum 1 year of professional development experience using AWS serverless architecture
- Demonstrated experience with federal cybersecurity requirements
- Experience with a variety of analytics, such as file, network, and host-based analytics
- Active security clearance required
- US Citizenship required
- Preferred: experience with Hadoop/Cloudera, Spark, and Power BI
- Preferred: experience with Databricks Intelligence Platform
- Preferred: practical experience with Splunk, including Splunk Machine Learning
- Preferred: machine learning fundamentals or developer experience supporting ML efforts
- Preferred: shell scripting using Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent
- Preferred: network monitoring tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, Zeek, SiLK, or YAF
- Preferred: cloud environments and AWS, Google, or Azure technologies
- Preferred: Linux operating system experience
- Preferred: monitoring and diagnosing activity across host, application, network, Internet protocol, database, source code, and LAN layers
- Preferred: experience developing real- or near real-time automation
- Preferred: AWS certification
- Preferred: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) or higher
- Ability to prioritize and manage own workload
