About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design relay and protection and control projects on high voltage substations from 12kV to 500kV under the direction of the Electrical Project Lead
- Prepare Substation Relay One Lines and Three Lines
- Prepare AC/DC Schematics
- Prepare Substation Panel Layouts
- Prepare Substation Wiring Diagrams and Cable Schedules
- Prepare SCADA and Communication Diagrams
- Prepare Point to Point Wiring Diagrams
- Coordinate with physical, settings, and drafting disciplines to ensure quality deliverables
- Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables
- Apply client standards related to the work
- Perform and ensure company QA/QC processes are followed on all design packages
- Continuously improve job-related engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- AA or High School Diploma
- Experience with substation (transmission) design
- 3+ years of detailed wiring design experience, developing single lines, schematics and relay panels
- 3+ years of experience working with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Inventor, and MicroStation
- Understanding of AC/DC control diagrams to accurately perform point to point wiring requirements
- Ability to assist lead engineers with initial design requirements
- Advanced user of Microsoft products, specifically Excel, and Word
- Knowledge of the practical application of industry standards such as: NEC, NESC, IEEE and ANSI
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, blueprints and drawings
