About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct research on energy programs, markets, technologies, infrastructure, policies, and related topics
- Collect, review, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
- Translate technical and analytical information into findings, narratives, and recommendations for client deliverables
- Support implementation of client programs and initiatives, including technical assistance, stakeholder engagement, participant support, and program operations
- Maintain accurate information in customer relationship management, project management, and program tracking systems
- Analyze energy consumption, building performance, program participation, market, and operational data
- Develop communications, outreach, and training resources such as presentations, guidance materials, case studies, webinars, workshops, and events
- Support testing and implementation of analytical tools, technology solutions, process improvements, and project resources
- Assist with project coordination, meeting materials, action items, and deliverables
- Collaborate with ICF team members, clients, partners, and stakeholders on energy-related programs and initiatives
- Provide research, analytical, communications, and operational support based on project and client needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 30 college credit hours completed in engineering, energy, environmental science or studies, data analytics, statistics, economics, business, public policy, communications, computer science, or a closely related discipline
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Work Authorization required due to contract requirements
- Academic, professional, or volunteer experience related to energy, engineering, analytics, infrastructure, security, environmental programs, public policy, or program implementation
- Experience conducting research and synthesizing information from multiple sources
- Experience analyzing quantitative or qualitative data using spreadsheets, databases, visualization tools, or similar applications
- Experience preparing reports, presentations, articles, case studies, guidance materials, or other written products
- Interest in consulting and working with government, utility, commercial, industrial, or nonprofit clients
- Strong analytical, organizational, research, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, initiative, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn
