About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain the combined roadmap across SMART AI products and keep product backlogs ordered against agreed priorities
Facilitate cross-product backlog refinement and sprint planning with Product Specialists
Prepare prioritisation recommendations and carry agreed decisions into scheduled work
Check that work items are complete, estimated and ready before entering a sprint
Coordinate Product, Delivery and Engineering, tracking progress and aligning priorities and status
Maintain and sequence engineering work queues with visibility of capacity, dependencies and work in progress
Maintain the shared platform backlog and track dependencies between the platform and products built on it
Coordinate client UAT and track work through release
Produce roadmap, progress, queue-status and backlog-health reporting
Support AI product delivery across conversational AI, copilots, automation and intelligent insights for public-sector organisations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience maintaining a product backlog or roadmap in a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst or similar delivery role within technology, AI or software
A structured and organised approach to competing requests across several products or teams
Confidence working with product, client-facing, delivery and engineering colleagues, including facilitating planning and refinement sessions
Strong attention to detail when reviewing work items, acceptance criteria, estimates and dependencies
A practical understanding of how software is designed, built and released
Working knowledge of GenAI, large language models and agentic AI, sufficient to discuss feasibility and sequencing
Clear written communication and disciplined decision recording
Eligibility to work in the UK
Experience with Azure DevOps Boards, delivery plans or equivalent tooling
Experience with Scrum, Kanban or flow-based work management
Exposure to AI-assisted or agentic software delivery
Experience of SaaS products, cloud platforms or shared platform dependencies
Experience of local government or wider public sector service delivery
