About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead development and management of IEHP’s Medicare/D-SNP products across the full product lifecycle
  • Ensure product alignment with strategy, performance metrics, regulatory requirements, contractual and licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and business requirements
  • Support product implementation and strategic initiatives supporting Medicare/D-SNP membership growth objectives
  • Work with division and department leaders to design products using industry research, historical performance, stakeholder feedback, and market trends
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of product benefits, coverage, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead ideation, planning, and implementation of new or enhanced benefits, products, programs, and pilots
  • Provide research and analysis to executives and leaders on the strategic direction of Medicare/D-SNP products
  • Develop and manage product lifecycle activities and strategic initiatives
  • Develop product roadmaps, define scope and prioritization, and collaborate cross-functionally in a matrixed environment
  • Identify execution risks, manage project changes and scope, and recommend mitigation and contingency plans
  • Lead annual product launches, partnering with sales, marketing, growth, retention teams, delegated vendors, and frontline staff
  • Deliver benefit training, explain benefit design, and oversee development and distribution of member materials
  • Direct creation of sales and marketing collateral, program talking points, product education, and configuration and benefit display requirements
  • Develop training materials and conduct annual and ongoing product training
  • Coordinate product modifications and updates with divisions and departments
  • Cultivate cross-organizational relationships to assess and prioritize upstream and downstream impacts
  • Build and oversee the product manager team and provide training and skills development
  • Hire, train, manage, and evaluate support staff and conduct performance reviews
  • Perform other duties required for successful health plan operations and department business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience leading health benefit plan development / implementation
  • Experience with health plan operations
  • Experience working within a matrix structure to deliver results
  • Product management, strategic planning, and project management experience
  • Demonstrated success launching products through the product lifecycle from concept ideation through launch while leading cross-functional collaborative teams
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; in lieu of the required degree, a minimum of four (4) years of additional relevant work experience is required, in addition to the minimum experience requirements
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Medicare Advantage, D-SNP, and other government programs
  • Knowledge of health plan development, management, and implementation principles and practices
  • Knowledge of health plan operations and regulatory and compliance requirements for Medicare Advantage and D-SNP
  • Strong working knowledge of Covered California and commercial products
  • Knowledge of IEHP’s current products
  • Knowledge of competitive landscapes for developing market strategies
  • Product development life cycle (PDLC) discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Project
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and recommend solutions using data- and experience-driven decisions
  • Ability to work in a complex, rapidly evolving environment requiring high-level initiative
  • Ability to quickly adjust project deadlines or assignments
