About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coach leaders and facilitators in Gemba practices to improve transformation quality, problem solving, and sustained outcomes
- Provide feedback and guidance to ensure Gemba is conducted consistently and aligned with enterprise standards
- Support initiative intake assessment, triage, charter development, facilitation readiness, and transformation resource alignment
- Establish and reinforce STAR-aligned problem-solving approaches, leader-led improvement practices, and structured facilitation methods
- Develop and maintain transformation methodologies, facilitation frameworks, coaching tools, leader enablement resources, and problem-solving standards
- Establish and sustain industry-standard transformation practices, facilitation standards, coaching methodologies, and operational excellence approaches
- Advise STAR facilitators through coaching, facilitation support, intake consultation, and best-practice application
- Monitor adoption, problem-solving quality, and outcomes; identify patterns, capture lessons learned, and refine tools and engagement models
- Reinforce consistent application of enterprise transformation principles and continuous improvement practices
- Deliver education and targeted learning experiences to drive adoption and sustainment
- Synthesize cross-initiative insights and transformation trends to identify system improvement opportunities and inform strategic priorities
- Perform other duties required to support Health Plan operations and department needs
- Report to the Chief Transformation Officer and partner with STAR leadership, leaders, sponsors, and facilitators
Requirements
What you’ll need- Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience at a professional level in continuous improvement, enterprise transformation, organizational effectiveness, and/or operational excellence
- Experience leading complex cross-functional improvement initiatives, facilitating organizational change, applying Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) principles, and supporting enterprise-wide transformation efforts
- Experience developing and applying structured problem-solving methodologies, transformation frameworks, facilitation standards, coaching practices and operational standard work
- Experience partnering with leaders and stakeholders to strengthen organization capability, adoption, and sustained improvement outcomes
- Prior health care experience required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
- Lean Certification preferred
- Change Management Certification preferred
- Executive or Leadership Coaching Certification preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
- Expert knowledge of coaching methodologies, continuous improvement and transformation methodologies, Lean principles, standard work, structured problem-solving, performance management systems, change management, enterprise stakeholder engagement, performance measurement, MDI, health plan operations, and cross-functional dependencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel; familiarity with data visualization tools
- Skills in Gemba coaching, structured problem-solving frameworks, standard work, initiative assessment, stakeholder alignment, data analysis, and translating complex methodologies into practical tools
- Ability to influence without direct authority, navigate complex organizational environments, balance strategic thinking with practical execution, manage multiple priorities, drive adoption, and continuously improve systems and processes
