About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop mathematical models for an in-house slot game portfolio
- Own slot game mathematics from initial concepts through balancing, testing, and regulatory certification
- Create and fine-tune configurations for reel-based, ways/Megaways, cluster pays, grid games, jackpots, and feature buy mechanics
- Define and optimize RTP, volatility, hit frequency, maximum win, payout distribution, and bonus contribution
- Develop reel strips, paytables, symbol distributions, free spins, multipliers, cascades, bonus features, progressive mechanics, multiple RTP configurations, and ante bet options
- Perform large-scale Monte Carlo simulations and validate theoretical and simulated RTP
- Evaluate statistical reliability through variance analysis, confidence intervals, and convergence testing
- Prepare PAR sheets, RTP calculations, and materials for independent testing and certification
- Improve the internal math development and simulation framework through architecture discussions, technical reviews, and implementation
- Evaluate live game performance data and provide mathematical recommendations
- Collaborate with producers, game designers, and developers to assess mechanics, balance gameplay, and address risks
- Establish math development standards, share technical knowledge, and support the growth of other mathematicians
