About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and develop backend services and microservices for cybersecurity applications
Develop REST APIs and event-driven interfaces between SIEM, SOAR, AI/ML and external systems
Integrate SIEM platforms, including security-event ingestion, parsing, normalization, enrichment and incident interfaces
Integrate SOAR platforms, including incidents/cases, playbooks, response workflows and enforcement connectors
Implement the Cyber Incident Package (CIP) interface between security analytics and response domains
Implement response and enforcement APIs for network, IAM, security and platform controls
Develop services supporting incident management, response orchestration, execution tracking and response verification
Integrate AI/ML analytical outputs into operational workflows
Implement secure service-to-service communication, authentication, authorization and audit mechanisms
Develop connectors/adapters for heterogeneous cybersecurity and infrastructure systems
Contribute to system architecture, API specifications, data models, automated testing, integration testing and technical documentation
Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers, AI/ML engineers, system architects and European project partners

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
At least 4 years of Java/Spring boot development experience
Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
Experience with microservices and distributed systems
Good understanding of event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
Experience with Docker and Linux environments
Familiarity with authentication and authorization technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT and PKI/certificates
Understanding of cybersecurity concepts including security events, alerts, incidents, logs, network security and access control
Good written and spoken English
Experience in SIEM technologies, SOAR platforms, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, IDS/IPS/NDR, Threat Intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK, IAM/firewall/network-management/endpoint-security APIs, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, CI/CD, AI/ML integration, or Defence/C4ISR/mission-critical/EU research projects is a strong advantage
