About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement outreach programs and events for Illinois Farm Bureau
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the development, direction and management of assigned programs
  • Plan and execute meetings, events, conferences, and trips, including agendas, marketing and communication, securing sponsors, recruiting participants and volunteers, registration, event logistics, and on-site facilitation
  • Serve as an ambassador and spokesperson for IFB and assigned programs
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with staff, county Farm Bureaus, and volunteer leadership
  • Collaborate to promote programs engaging prospective, new, and existing members, including youth, collegiate, and Young Leaders
  • Administer social media platforms
  • Provide staff assistance for division activities and represent IFB on boards, committees, and groups throughout the state

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training
  • Work may extend beyond normal business hours as business needs dictate, including frequent long workdays
  • Extensive travel throughout Illinois and out of state, with multiple overnight obligations each year
  • Ability to lift 30-40 pounds to load, unload, and set up for special events
  • Ability to participate in physical activities is desirable
  • Illinois Farm Bureau does not generally sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
