About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with discipline system design according to code and IMEG standards
- Research commercially available equipment
- Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation
- Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Assist in developing equipment and instrument specifications
- Perform field work to document existing conditions and current installations
- Perform and document technical calculations associated with design tasks
- Support cost estimate development, including quote solicitation from vendors
- Assist in process controls design, engineering calculations, and bid package documentation
- Review project construction progress and document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
- Assist with review of project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
- Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions
- Work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of chemical processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent required
- Strong interest in design consulting
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Prior internship experience in the engineering consulting or chemical process industry preferred
- AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D experience a plus
