About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide on-site construction observation and serve as a key coordination point between contractors, engineers, and the broader project team
  • Maintain daily site presence and represent the owner's interest in the project
  • Monitor field conditions and share project status updates with in-office engineering teams
  • Perform site observations and provide information to contractors and engineers
  • Keep design engineers informed of project status, potential problems, and liability issues
  • Observe progress and workmanship for alignment with contract documents
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Document meeting minutes and prepare daily reports covering construction status, schedule delays, issues, workflow, upcoming work, and inspections
  • Review, clarify, and interpret contract documents
  • Issue and track project deficiency reports
  • Coordinate construction issues with the architect and design engineer and document events and circumstances
  • Track latest drawings and confirm contractors use corrected revisions
  • Track RFI and submittal completion and prioritize critical-path items
  • Assist with resolving construction issues and conflicts
  • Support project closeout documentation
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety protocols
  • Prepare reports and progress summaries for senior management and clients
  • Support industrial, manufacturing, and data center projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in building design consulting or construction, with 3 years preferred; field experience or skilled trades a plus
  • OR an associate degree or certificate in Construction Management or Engineering, plus minimum 4 years of directly related construction-industry experience, with 6 years preferred
  • Ability to travel 100% and work onsite at assigned project locations, including extended overnight and long-term stays
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with design processes and interpretation of architectural and engineering design documents, including structural, mechanical, civil, and electrical documents
  • Knowledge of design and construction principles, technical drawings, construction methods, materials, and applicable safety regulations
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
  • Ability to acquire a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card within 90 days of employment
  • Complete Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training within 30 days of employment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools preferred
  • Regularly able to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
  • Ability to work in outside weather conditions and loud noises
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Sponsorship is not available
