About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a portfolio of consulting projects, including human rights assessments, investigations and advisory work.
  • Take accountability for project quality, outcomes and commercial performance.
  • Build trusted client relationships and guide clients through complex or sensitive issues with evidence-based advice.
  • Identify client needs, shape scopes and proposals, and help win new and repeat business.
  • Lead project teams by setting expectations, supporting judgement and coaching colleagues.
  • Work with Project Managers on resources, budgets, timelines and risks.
  • Bring sector or technical insight to projects and strengthen consulting approaches.
  • Develop others through project-team coaching and feedback.
  • Contribute to service development, client relationships and shared learning.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Substantial experience in human rights due diligence, responsible sourcing, ethical trade, labour rights, social compliance or a closely related field.
  • Strong sector or technical expertise applying human rights and labour standards to real business challenges.
  • Experience leading complex and fast-turnaround projects.
  • Ability to guide colleagues while maintaining oversight of quality and financial performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing demands and prioritise time to deliver diverse requirements at pace.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders and communicate findings clearly and sensitively.
  • Ability to develop practical recommendations from evidence, recognising uncertainty and competing perspectives.
  • Ability to shape compelling proposals and contribute to winning work.
  • Ability to collaborate across cultures, share knowledge and provide useful, actionable feedback.
  • Experience in both consultancy and an in-house role would be valuable, but is not required.
