About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage larger and more complex delivery projects across local government and/or health
Establish clear project plans and achieve milestones according to client expectations and contractual requirements
Manage multiple projects across different service areas or clients, delivering on budget and to a high quality
Identify conditions required for complex change and drive financial and outcome impact
Manage delivery consultants and establish individual roles and collective targets
Build and manage trusted client and account relationships
Delegate relationship management and maintain stakeholder plans
Coach delivery teams in client relationship management and agile problem-solving
Brief the Director and Delivery Director on project delivery and risks
Build collaborative relationships across the company
Set performance objectives and provide coaching and development to consulting staff
Set and maintain delivery standards across the business
Monitor project budgets, timelines, and commercial reporting
Share project impact and insights to support sales and business growth
Support value propositions, networking, social media, and blog activity
Contribute to proposals, ITT responses, sales meetings, and pitches
Develop and improve IMPOWER’s EDGEWORK methodology and coach staff in its application
Establish personal development objectives using self-awareness, reflection, and 360 feedback

Requirements

What you’ll need

Significant experience in a project management role within a management consultancy
Project delivery expertise focused on enhanced outcomes, financial value, and organisational change
Experience managing and delivering complex, long-term projects in resource-constrained environments
Experience managing senior client and account relationships, including resistance and challenge
Experience supporting business development and account growth
Experience of public sector consulting and deep knowledge of local government, social care, health, and/or housing
Strong emotional intelligence and understanding of values-based organisations
Ability to develop and manage high-performing teams
Commercial mindset and understanding of consulting-business commercial requirements
Comfortable with nationwide travel and overnight stays near client sites when necessary
