About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, and optimize CNC machining processes for metal components
  • Troubleshoot machining issues to improve tool life, reduce defects, and prevent downtime
  • Perform and support CNC programming using G-code and FANUC/Siemens controls
  • Analyze and improve OEE, cycle time, and process efficiency
  • Support and optimize automation systems, PLC controls, and robotics
  • Install, launch, and validate new equipment and processes
  • Troubleshoot complex issues on the manufacturing floor, from machines to process variation
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues
  • Support APQP, FMEA, and control plan development
  • Create work instructions and train operators and technicians on new processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in CNC machining in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting CNC machines and machining processes
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming (G-code)
  • Experience with metal machining processes (steel, aluminum, brass)
  • Working knowledge of Siemens PLCs and automation systems
  • Robotics integration experience (FANUC, KUKA, or similar)
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, sensors, and control panels
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience with Swiss (STAR) or turning machines
  • Experience with IATF 16949, FMEA, APQP, and control plans
  • Continuous improvement or Six Sigma experience (preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 250 lbs with handling equipment
  • Frequent standing, walking, and hands-on work
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching
