About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Clarify requirements, prepare proposals, and plan projects
- Take responsibility for schedules, quality, and budgets
- Raise risks at an early stage and develop follow-on business with clients
- Coordinate day-to-day project operations, set priorities, and plan capacity
- Provide technical leadership to a small team, clarify responsibilities, and involve external specialists when needed
- Develop architectures and interfaces for software and hardware projects
- Review code or develop sophisticated prototypes
- Use AI in development, planning, testing, and documentation
- Support the team in using AI, evaluate its value and quality, and protect confidential data
- Prepare realistic effort estimates and monitor utilization and project margins
- Coordinate financial matters with management, accounting, and administration
Requirements
What you’ll need- Several years of hands-on software development experience and a background in software architecture
- Technical education or equivalent professional experience
- Experience leading complex client projects or small teams, with responsibility for schedules, quality, and budgets
- Practical experience with AI tools and a good understanding of their capabilities and limitations
- Entrepreneurial mindset and commercial acumen
- Enjoyment of client-facing work
- Independent and pragmatic approach to work
- Respectful communication and confident decision-making
- Excellent written and spoken German
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Experience with firmware, hardware, IoT, or external development partners is a plus
