About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Answer patient inquiries about billing, procedures, policies, and available services through incoming and outgoing calls
  • Act as a liaison between patients and insurance companies
  • Facilitate communication between patients, doctors, medical staff, and administrative staff
  • Maintain patient records, filing, and documentation
  • Perform set-up and data entry
  • Package and ship orders
  • Arrange finances and collect co-payments
  • Coordinate benefits
  • Coordinate financial assistance
  • Assist offices with prior authorizations
  • Perform billing
  • Work as a team member within the patient services department and other departments to promote information sharing and continuous process improvement
  • Function in strict accordance with standard written procedures and guidelines, with deviations approved by the supervising pharmacist

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • One (1) year of experience working in a high volume pharmacy, or equivalent setting, required
  • Six (6) months as a temporary associate in the Patient Care Specialist role or Reliance Operations & Compliance department may substitute
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
  • Experience working with online claims processing system preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Aptitude for working with other health care professionals
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 5lbs

  • Immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position
