About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Integrate claims, membership, provider, risk score, EMR, ADT, and other data sources
- Develop reports and complex analyses to understand and explain quality measure trends and their drivers
- Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities to close quality gaps in care
- Forecast quality measure trends
- Work with the Quality Workgroup team on initiatives to improve quality measure rates
- Support annual HEDIS and QARR data submissions
- Help respond to HEDIS auditor concerns
- Develop standard reports using SAS, SQL, Quality Reporter, or other reporting tools
- Model quality measure rates to quantify gap-closure opportunities and identify intervention-receptive measures
- Develop custom quality measures for regulatory performance-improvement reporting
- Work cross-functionally to ensure measure reporting is transparent to providers
- Handle multiple complex analyses in response to day-to-day requests
- Develop reports, charts, visualizations, and analyses explaining quality measure trends
- Present outputs in a user-friendly manner
- Provide results summaries and recommendations
- Review and validate data and findings before releasing reports to QA analysts and customers
- Deliver work according to department SOP
- Research topics and develop ideas supporting department or corporate strategic goals
- Assist with implementing new capabilities, vendor software, applications, and data sources
- Stay current on research and apply new techniques
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required; an additional four (4) years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree
- Three (3) years of analytics experience required
- Experience in a managed health care environment preferred
- Knowledge of Independent Health EDW, Health Rules, Beacon, and Medicaid FFS data and structures preferred
- Relevant experience dealing with large and structured datasets may substitute for specific healthcare experience
- Intermediate understanding of healthcare concepts and data, including CPT, HCPCS, DRG, and diagnosis codes
- Familiarity with HEDIS and QARR technical measure specifications
- Ability to create member-level chase reports with assistance
- Familiarity with NCQA-certified HEDIS/QARR measure software preferred
- Ability to profile and integrate novel data sources into complex reporting
- Familiarity with cloud computing; AWS Athena, Redshift, and SageMaker preferred
- Knowledge of statistical analysis software such as SQL, SAS, R, and Python
- Knowledge of reporting tools such as Excel, SAS Visual Analytics, and Qlik Sense
- Ability to translate customer requirements into reports/analyses and frame valuable business questions
- Ability to present complex output and statistical analysis clearly to business partners
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work with team members in a remote or office environment
