About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, deliver, implement and refine training for new and existing associates
- Support training needs for organizational initiatives and corporate strategic priorities
- Develop, deliver and grade skill assessments
- Schedule and communicate new hire training
- Communicate trainee performance
- Create and update trainee handbooks and manuals
- Deliver individual, small-group and large-forum training
- Supervise new hire classes, including disciplinary functions and timecards
- Develop and deliver staff development training and continuous associate improvement programs
- Coordinate with resource coordinators to identify staff development improvements
- Assist with training on new products, benefits changes, system updates and other information
- Maintain department portal pages
- Research information, staff needs, training coordination and student performance with various departments
- Coordinate training and onboarding with Human Resources
- Work with quality assurance and resource management to ensure training is appropriately developed and delivered
- Coordinate new hire orientations
- Provide ideas on system updates requiring specific testing
- Research policies, procedures, contracts and benefits with other functional areas
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Three (3) years of health industry operations or corporate training experience required
- Proven ability to create and facilitate high-impact, department-specific and corporate-wide training initiatives from concept through lesson plans and implementation
- Knowledge of HMO commercial, PPO, EPO, POS, FSA, TPA, PBD, Indemnity, Consumer Directed, Medicare and Medicaid product lines a plus
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize/organize in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Excellent soft skills, group facilitation, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to learn new software programs quickly and create training guides
- High-level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required
- Familiarity with e-learning tools such as Articulate and corporate intranets/websites
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Local travel required
- Compliance with applicable State Motor Vehicle laws and Independent Health’s Driver’s License Requirements Policy when using a motor vehicle for work
- Proven examples of displaying Independent Health values: Passionate, Caring, Respectful, Trustworthy, Collaborative, and Accountable
