About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide age-appropriate medical nutrition therapy to individuals with bleeding disorders across clinic, outreach, telehealth, and approved community settings
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and document findings in individualized plans of care
  • Establish nutrition goals with patients and families using motivational and behavior-change strategies
  • Provide individualized education and resources and follow up through in-person, telehealth, or telephone visits
  • Conduct pediatric cardiovascular risk assessments and communicate findings and recommendations
  • Independently manage nutrition care for pediatric and adult patients with rare, chronic, and medically complex conditions
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the clinical nutrition program
  • Serve as the organization’s medical nutrition therapy subject-matter expert
  • Consult with clinical disciplines and develop education for staff, providers, trainees, and community partners
  • Establish quality and performance measures, analyze outcomes and gaps, and lead improvement initiatives
  • Develop evidence-based protocols, clinical pathways, policies, and documentation standards
  • Represent the organization in professional, regional, grant-funded, and collaborative nutrition and bleeding-disorder initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited dietetics program
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience providing clinical nutrition services in a healthcare setting
  • Experience serving pediatric patients, individuals with chronic or complex health conditions, or multidisciplinary specialty-care populations is preferred
  • Current Indiana dietitian license
  • Current registration as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Valid driver’s license and insured automobile required
  • Ability to enable multi-factor authentication via a personal smart phone/smart device to access IHI systems
