About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct in-depth research to generate, maintain, and expand databases for semiconductor components and end applications
Fill data gaps using expertise and document assumptions clearly and transparently
Create market forecasts reflecting semiconductor industry dynamics
Explain forecast rationale to internal teams and external stakeholders
Collaborate with semiconductor analysts, equipment analysts, and other Omdia teams
Gather data, validate assumptions, and build a cohesive market view
Establish Omdia as a source of semiconductor industry insight and innovation
Contribute to the research agenda and thought leadership
Respond to colleague and client inquiries about datasets, methodologies, and assumptions
Build client relationships and evolve the research offering based on client needs
Own and adapt the Application Market Forecast Tool model and datasets
Transform data structures and incorporate new research areas based on customer demand
Partner with sales and product development teams to identify opportunities, support renewals, and evolve the research offering

Requirements

What you’ll need

2–5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry or research analysis
Strong understanding of semiconductor components and market forces
Ability to synthesize insights from multiple sources and think strategically about market trends and dynamics
Proven ability to build relationships across teams and work collaboratively
Confidence forming and expressing opinions on industry trends backed by robust data and analysis
Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables
Passion for exploring new research areas, uncovering trends, and delivering decision-driving insights
Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively
