About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and aggregate data and analysis supporting the Application Market Forecast Tool (AMFT)
- Establish and contribute to a commercially relevant semiconductor research agenda
- Publish standard AMFT deliverables, including semiconductor component and application forecasts
- Generate, maintain, and expand databases for semiconductor components and end applications
- Conduct background research, collaborate with colleagues, and estimate data when unavailable
- Log database assumptions clearly
- Use industry knowledge and data models to generate market forecasts
- Explain forecasts and their underlying reasons to team members
- Collaborate with semiconductor analysts to align assumptions, revenue, and shipment numbers across projects
- Liaise with equipment analysts to gather data, understand market dynamics, and validate forecast assumptions
- Respond to internal and external inquiries about datasets, methodologies, and assumptions
- Support Omdia’s thought leadership in semiconductor components and applications
- Own and adapt models and datasets as market conditions evolve
- Transform data structures and incorporate new research areas driven by customer demand
- Partner with sales and product development teams to generate leads, progress leads, and support renewals
- Use scoping to evolve the research offering
- Multitask and regularly meet deliverable deadlines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2-5 years relevant semiconductor industry or analyst experience
- Strong understanding of the semiconductor component market
- Up-to-date awareness of key forces driving and impacting the semiconductor market
- Collaborative across teams and able to develop relationships in support of mutual benefit
- Confidence to form personal opinions on industry trends and express those opinions with backing data
- MS Excel database expertise for data building, data manipulation, data organization, and pivot table creation
- Ability to find and piece together insight from multiple sources and connect the dots
- Big-picture understanding of the market
- Ability to multitask and prioritize and delegate competing tasks effectively
