About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead functional workstreams across major utility client engagements, defining target operating models, business processes, and solution roadmaps
- Drive requirements gathering, As-Is/To-Be process mapping, gap analysis, and functional specification development
- Advise client stakeholders by translating complex utility domain challenges into scalable technology solutions
- Advise on modernization of legacy environments across Retail, Transmission, Distribution, and Smart Metering
- Provide functional subject-matter guidance on utility platforms including SAP S/4HANA Utilities/IS-U, Oracle CC&B/MDM, Utilities Cloud, GIS, EAM, and ADMS
- Oversee business process design and support functional testing (SIT/UAT), data migration strategy, and operational cutover activities
- Manage delivery scope using Agile, Hybrid, or Waterfall project management frameworks
- Partner with global onshore/offshore delivery teams to ensure solution alignment, quality execution, and milestone tracking
- Mentor junior consultants and manage day-to-day team performance within project workstreams
- Contribute to pre-sales efforts, RFPs, scope estimation, and technical pitch decks
- Build reusable assets and solution accelerators and publish domain thought leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6 to 9 years of total consulting experience
- At least 3+ years within a Big 4 or top-tier enterprise IT consulting firm (e.g., Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, Accenture, Capgemini or similar)
- Proven track record delivering functional or technical workstreams on enterprise-scale IT/digital transformation programs within the Utilities sector (Power, Gas, Water, Renewables)
- Experience across one or more utility operational domains: Customer Operations & Billing (CIS / MDM); Grid Operations, Smart Metering (AMI) & SCADA; Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) & Field Service Management (FSM); Energy Transition / Renewable Integration (Solar, EV infrastructure, Storage)
- Deep familiarity with core enterprise platforms (SAP IS-U/S4, Oracle CC&B, Salesforce, GIS)
- Strong knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Excellent stakeholder management, structured problem-solving, and executive presentation capabilities
- Willingness to travel to client sites based on project demands
