About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with Business Central functional consultants to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Create technical designs and architecture documentation for client review and development execution
- Lead architecture discussions for Business Central customizations, extensions, and integrations
- Evaluate technical approaches and identify scalability, maintainability, and performance concerns
- Design, develop, and maintain Business Central extensions using AL
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex development challenges
- Mentor, guide, and provide troubleshooting support for junior and mid-level developers
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices
- Collaborate with leadership to manage development priorities and release readiness
- Diagnose and resolve complex Business Central issues, including performance optimization, upgrade and deployment challenges, posting and transactional errors, data issues, and integration failures
- Support ongoing client environments and contribute to long-term solution stability
- Improve development methodologies, release processes, and technical standards
- Enhance source control, environment management, testing, and deployment practices
- Evaluate and implement AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity and code quality
- Contribute to the evolution of VetaTek's Business Central development practice
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central development experience
- Extensive hands-on experience developing Business Central solutions using AL
- Strong understanding of Business Central functional areas, including General Ledger and Financial Management, Sales and Customer Management, Purchasing, Inventory, and Supply Chain Management
- Experience leading technical design discussions and gathering solution requirements directly from stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of Business Central APIs, web services, and integration patterns
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithmic efficiency, application architecture, performance optimization, and secure coding practices
- Experience troubleshooting complex production environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms
- Previous experience working for a Microsoft Partner or consulting organization
- Experience with AL-Go for GitHub and/or Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Business Central containers and BcContainerHelper
- AppSource application development experience
- Multi-tenant Business Central solution development
- Experience integrating Business Central with Dynamics 365 Sales, Dataverse, Power Platform, and third-party applications
- NAV to Business Central upgrade and migration experience
- Experience using Application Insights, telemetry, and SQL performance tuning
- Must be authorized to work and reside in the United States
