About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer, support, and monitor environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases on Cloud SQL.
- Provision, configure, and support cloud instances and resources.
- Create and administer Cloud SQL, Cloud Composer, BigQuery (datasets, tables, and permissions), and Memorystore resources.
- Perform database administration activities, including INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE operations, structural adjustments, and support for business users.
- Administer and govern analytical environments and data platforms.
- Oversee monitoring activities, ensuring availability and performance while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Handle multiple requests and projects simultaneously, collaborating with different teams and business areas.
- Provision infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
- Version and manage code using GitLab (BVS Cloud environment) and GitHub (EFX Cloud environment).
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience administering PostgreSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Knowledge of Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, and Memorystore.
- Experience using Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure.
- Knowledge of version control using GitHub and/or GitLab.
- Experience monitoring environments and resolving incidents.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different initiatives and business contexts.
- Preferred: experience in DataOps environments.
- Preferred: knowledge of cloud observability and monitoring.
- Preferred: experience with governance and cost optimization in GCP.
- Preferred: experience automating processes and managing infrastructure as code.
