About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer, support, and monitor environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases in Cloud SQL
- Provision, configure, and support cloud instances and resources
- Create and administer Cloud SQL, Cloud Composer, BigQuery (datasets, tables, and permissions), and Memorystore resources
- Perform database administration activities, including INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE operations, structural adjustments, and support for business teams
- Administer and govern analytics environments and data platforms
- Monitor availability and performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Handle multiple requests and projects simultaneously, collaborating with different teams and business areas
- Provision infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- Version and manage code using GitLab (BVS Cloud environment) and GitHub (EFX Cloud environment)
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience administering PostgreSQL databases
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
- Knowledge of Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, and Memorystore
- Experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management
- Knowledge of code version control using GitHub and/or GitLab
- Experience monitoring environments and resolving incidents
- Ability to work collaboratively across different initiatives and business contexts
- Experience in DataOps environments (a plus)
- Knowledge of cloud observability and monitoring (a plus)
- Experience with GCP governance and cost optimization (a plus)
- Experience automating processes and managing Infrastructure as Code (a plus)
