About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Manager - Accounting
- Complete the full accounting cycle for several hydroelectric, wind and solar construction projects and corporate entities
- Perform the complete accounting cycle of projects and/or low-complexity corporate entities in a shared services environment
- Record journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, perform bank reconciliations and sales tax remittances, process revenue billing, and track prepaid and accrued fees payable
- Account for inter-company transactions
- Account for fixed assets and associated depreciation
- Prepare monthly analyses
- Participate in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual statutory financial statements
- Participate in preparing annual audit files
- Ensure compliance with internal controls
- Participate in continuous improvement and process effectiveness and efficiency initiatives
- Analyze financial statement items and support necessary corrections
- Participate in special mandates as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hold a university degree in accounting or college education combined with relevant experience
- Experience of the full accounting cycle
- Fluency in French and English (oral/written) required to ensure collaboration with various stakeholders outside Quebec on a recurring basis
- Excellent skills with software in general (e.g. Great Plains, Acrobat)
- Experience in managing multiple currencies, an asset
- Experience in a public company, an asset
