About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead all accounting and financial operations for InnPower, InnServices and affiliated corporations
  • Ensure accurate, complete and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Oversee financial statements, regulatory filings, stakeholder reporting, and required disclosures
  • Develop, document, and consistently apply accounting policies
  • Lead annual external audits and coordinate audit activities
  • Lead annual operating and capital budgets, corporate forecasting, and long-range financial planning
  • Review financial performance against budget and identify trends, risks, and opportunities using FP&A tools and AI developments
  • Develop financial performance indicators and dashboards
  • Provide financial analysis for capital investments, infrastructure planning, and major corporate initiatives
  • Support long-term financial strategy development
  • Modernize finance operations through AI tools, automation, process improvements, ERP implementations and upgrades, and improved reporting technology
  • Establish standardized financial processes and promote data integrity and system governance across corporations
  • Lead the internal control framework and support financial governance and enterprise risk management
  • Oversee electricity, water and wastewater billing, utility settlements, revenue reconciliation, market settlements, customer billing controls, revenue assurance, and billing system integrity
  • Oversee cash management, liquidity, debt financing activities, banking relationships, and investments
  • Review borrowing requirements and financing recommendations for the CFO
  • Lead and coach two Finance Managers and the Billing & Settlements Manager
  • Manage performance, professional development, collaboration, workload distribution, and training
  • Support the CFO with Ontario Energy Board reporting, regulatory filings, rate applications, government reporting, and other reporting obligations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline
  • CPA designation in good standing
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within a utility or multi-entity structure
  • Minimum of five years of senior leadership experience
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary finance teams
  • Experience within an Ontario electricity distributor, municipal utility, or broader public sector organization is considered a strong asset
  • Deep expertise in IFRS, external financial reporting, accounting policy, and financial controls
  • Experience managing external audits, regulatory reporting, and financial reporting governance frameworks
  • Experience leading ERP implementations and financial system improvements
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial data
  • Experience in budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and FP&A leadership
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License
