About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support delivery of process improvement, automation and systems change across UK Finance
- Deliver defined work packages within transformation workstreams
- Maintain plans, trackers, the roadmap and backlog
- Report progress, risks and issues
- Track benefits against baseline, including time saved, error reduction and close timeline
- Map current-state processes, identify inefficiencies and help design simpler, faster processes
- Support rollout and piloting of RPA, AI tools and workflow automation
- Build simple solutions where appropriate
- Contribute to cross-functional programmes and act as the day-to-day link between Finance, Technology, Data, HR and Operations
- Identify underused finance systems and manual workarounds
- Support evaluation and adoption of planning, reporting and analytics tools
- Support testing, communications, training and adoption tracking for process and system changes
- Partner with Controlling, Financial Accounting, Reporting, Transactional Finance and Operations & Newstrade Finance to understand pain points and shape practical fixes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent process improvement qualification), or an evidenced track record of delivering process redesign
- Has led or materially contributed to at least one finance process mapping and redesign project with measurable outcomes
- Working knowledge of finance processes such as P2P, O2C, record-to-report or reporting
- Hands-on experience with at least one ERP (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivots and Power Query
- Proven ability to manage own workload and deliver to deadline, with an example of seeing a project through to completion
- Experience working with Technology, HR and Operations stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes
- Practical experience with RPA, AI-assisted analytics or conversational AI, or clear evidence of self-directed learning in this area
- Fast-paced problem-solving ability, natural curiosity and drive
- Part or fully qualified accountant (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) (particularly desirable)
- Exposure to planning tools such as Anaplan or Adaptive, or reporting platforms such as Power BI or Tableau (particularly desirable)
- Experience supporting change through communications, training or user acceptance testing (particularly desirable)
