About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Interact with clients, vendors, contractors, architects, other trades, and electrical engineers to design permit and construction electrical drawings and documents
Create and manage project/design job folders
Develop accurate designs complying with contract scope, project specifications, drafting standards, policies, and procedures
Review supplier drawings and implement them into designs to meet NEC clearance requirements
Work with engineers and field installation experts to develop installation details
Set up CAD operating systems and provide input for associated SOP development
Prepare as-built drawings from field red-line markups and obtain required review and approval
Use and evaluate industrial design software and tools, including AutoCAD 2018 or newer and Revit 2017 or newer
Assist with BIM implementation and coordination with the project team
Help maintain plotter and plotting processes
Occasionally visit construction sites for model verification and coordination

Requirements

What you’ll need

Candidates must have 10+ years of experience
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Drafting Technologies Degree, or IEC apprenticeship program graduate proficient in AutoCAD, or an Engineering Bachelor's Degree proficient in AutoCAD
10+ years’ experience in CAD Electrical design or electrical construction field
Ability to work in an office environment
Knowledge of sustainable design practices (optional)
Experience with project management software (optional)
Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, SKM, etc.
Familiarity with lighting design software Agi32 is a plus
Ability to occasionally visit construction sites for model verification and coordination
Must be able to work independently and as a team player
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Must be able to efficiently perform the essential physical functions of the position
Employment contingent upon successful completion of background investigation and drug screening
Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status
Must complete drug & alcohol screening, E-Verify, driving record, and background check
