Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement APIs and domain services abstracting LLM complexity
Build scalable AWS infrastructure for LLM interactions, including prompt management, context handling, auditing, and response processing
Create developer tooling and documentation for intuitive service integration
Establish AI and LLM best practices considering auditability, cost, and performance
Collaborate with feature teams to address needs through platform capabilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, performant APIs
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code
Participate in code reviews and provide and receive constructive feedback
Build platform services powering AI-driven features across Canvas and other educational products

What you’ll need

Prior software engineering experience with API design and distributed system development
Strong experience building backend services and REST or GraphQL APIs
Knowledge of API design best practices around security, performance monitoring, and rate limiting
Understanding of LLM integration and usage patterns
Past experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
Experience with Node.js or a desire to learn
Experience with TypeScript or a desire to learn
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Background in developer tooling and API documentation preferred
Must work onsite Tuesday and Wednesday; Thursday strongly encouraged
Written and verbal fluency in English
Must pass a background check
Must provide identity verification as required
Must be authorized to work in Hungary or obtain the necessary authorization
