About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop the platform end to end—from the Rails backend and REST API to the Angular frontend—from initial concept through release
Collaborate closely with Product Management and report to the Managing Director
Work daily with coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot
Reliably structure tasks for coding agents and ensure quality through code reviews and testing
Build and maintain a living knowledge base covering code, architecture, and domain expertise for developers and agents
Further develop the Insurgo Agent and other AI capabilities
Develop and maintain integrations such as BiPRO, VEMA, email connectivity, digital mail, and electronic signatures
Share responsibility for secure, fast, and reliable operations with daily releases
Work with a multi-tenant SaaS platform and dedicated database schemas for each tenant
Use Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, Action Cable, Angular, TypeScript, REST/JSON, OpenAPI, webhooks, Flutter, PostgreSQL, Redis, S3, and AWS

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of professional experience developing web applications
Experience taking responsibility for systems in production
Experience with architecture and system design for multi-tenant SaaS platforms, clean APIs, data models, and background processing
Requirements engineering: translate business requirements into clear, actionable specifications
Experience with coding agents and agentic software development
Ability to understand and assess the quality of AI-generated code in Ruby on Rails and Angular with TypeScript
Self-organized and pragmatic approach to work
Fluent German
Based in Germany
Existing authorization to work in Germany
Experience in the insurance industry is a strong advantage
Experience with Flutter, AWS operations, Office add-ins, or browser extensions is an advantage
