About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Coach one to three Scrum teams and foster a collaborative, accountable team environment
Facilitate Scrum events, including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Support backlog refinement with the Product Owner and team
Coordinate sprint schedules, team capacity, deliverables, and milestones with the Product Owner and delivery team
Maintain Scrum boards, sprint backlogs, capacity plans, velocity charts, and burndown charts
Track sprint progress and provide status updates to management, project teams, and customers
Identify and help remove impediments, surface delivery risks, and work with the team to find solutions
Manage commitment risks and issues, escalating them to appropriate stakeholders when needed
Partner with Product Owners and stay current on Scrum practices and industry trends

Requirements

What you’ll need

Prior experience working with Policy Administration Software teams or similar insurance technology platforms preferred
Recommended 1+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile delivery role
Strong understanding of Agile principles and Scrum framework, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups
Demonstrated ability to coach teams on Agile best practices, remove impediments, and foster continuous improvement
Proven success in building trust, promoting collaboration, and maintaining accountability across cross-functional teams
Strong written and verbal communication, active listening, and ability to build trust and collaborate across roles and teams
Strong organization, analytical thinking, prioritization, and follow-through, with flexibility to manage multiple priorities
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with the Scrum software development lifecycle
Willingness to learn Insurity’s release-management process and SAFe methodology
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification, or ability to obtain it within your first year
Experience with policy administration software or other insurance technology is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered
