About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive the architectural vision and system design for core AI/ML-based services
Act as technical lead for complex, multi-quarter initiatives from inception to global deployment
Design and build large-scale deep learning infrastructure and platforms for distributed model training
Ensure low-latency and high-availability at enterprise scale
Partner with Product Management, Core Engineering, and executive stakeholders to align ML capabilities with business strategy
Translate abstract product requirements into concrete technical designs
Mentor and guide senior and mid-level data scientists and engineers
Establish standard methodologies and define code quality expectations
Lead architecture design reviews
Work with accelerators, network fabrics, CUDA, NCCL, RDMA, Databricks, Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Prometheus
Design, develop, and support robust CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML services
Ensure models transition smoothly from research into reliable production endpoints

Requirements

What you’ll need

PhD/Master’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, or equivalent years of experience
7+ years of machine learning experience in industry
Proven track record of operating at a Lead, Principal, or Staff level
Deep expertise in designing complex machine learning systems, ranking infrastructures, and data pipelines that handle massive throughput
Extensive, production-hardened experience with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow
Strong, production-grade programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or C++
Deep understanding of software design principles and algorithms
Proven ability to thrive in ambiguity and independently drive large unstructured problems to successful technical resolutions
Strong history of collaborating with, elevating, and mentoring engineering talent
