About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review new policies from incoming commission statements and enter them into the Agency Management System
  • Generate outgoing commission advances and agent earnings
  • Reconcile incoming commission payments against expected schedules and resolve discrepancies
  • Communicate with insurance companies about missing or incorrect payments, policy and agent statuses, and other commission issues
  • Generate commission payment reports for carriers and agents
  • Scan and file commission statements
  • Handle agent calls and emails regarding commission issues
  • Ensure excellent service to agents
  • Assist in developing and operating procedures for efficient commission accounting operations
  • Perform complex financial transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Balance account statements and correct financial errors
  • Perform weekly quality oversight activities for individuals and carriers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proficient computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills
  • Strong people skills to lead and coach others
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Effective communication at all organizational levels
  • High proficiency calculating figures and amounts, including commission premiums and percentages
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with system testing and documentation of new processes
  • Ability to work as a team player while supporting agency goals and coworkers
  • Insurance industry experience preferred, but not required
