About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide critical support for the Interfaith America Advancement Team during organizational growth
  • Lead grant proposal and report development processes, including strategy, timeline tracking, content drafting, and quality assurance
  • Focus on funding opportunities within the civic strategy area, including community service partnerships, democracy initiatives, fellowships, grants, and convenings
  • Work with program leadership to understand strategies, intended outcomes, and learning priorities
  • Translate program plans into compelling funding narratives
  • Identify alignment opportunities with prospective and current institutional partners
  • Share impact and success stories with funding partners
  • Co-create fundraising strategy with the Director of Foundation Relations and senior leaders
  • Manage a portfolio of civic foundation prospects and funders, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Maintain funder records across platforms
  • Support Executive Team communications with portfolio contacts by coordinating touchpoints, briefings, and updates
  • Research civic foundation funding opportunities and prepare information for funding meetings
  • Project-manage letters of inquiry, concept notes, and grant proposals with advancement, program, finance, and senior leadership teams
  • Develop and manage proposal calendars, timelines, and deadlines
  • Draft narratives describing program objectives, impact, strategy, and funder alignment
  • Prepare interim and final grant reports
  • Coordinate with program teams and the Grants Compliance and Reporting Manager on financial reports and deliverables
  • Develop briefing documents and program resources for funding prospects and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with funders and external partners
  • Maintain accurate funder records and strategy documents
  • Support Advancement Team members with Salesforce, SharePoint, and other records

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-8 years of experience in nonprofit organizations, development or philanthropy offices, civic or community institutions, or other relevant experience
  • Experience with foundation grants management, writing and/or fundraising strategy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple ongoing projects from multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong competence in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Willingness to learn and utilize organization-wide constituent relationship management software (Salesforce)
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to travel across the US
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to communicate orally, in writing, and via computers and digital devices
  • Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe, and view computer terminals and office equipment
