About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyse complex signals and develop custom tooling
  • Capture signals, fingerprint devices and perform over-the-air analysis
  • Analyse protocols by extending or developing Wireshark dissectors
  • Build Python Scapy libraries and server/client infrastructure
  • Develop custom tools
  • Support identification of potential weaknesses and build custom capabilities to target those weaknesses
  • Use SDRs to capture signals and build proof of concepts against target protocols
  • Present findings in a useful and accessible way to others
  • Work on offensive research against low-level RF protocols
  • Collaborate within a Vulnerability Research team
  • Work with very few meetings to focus on challenging technical problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experienced and passionate background in RF engineering and signals analysis
  • Understanding of RF modulation schemes
  • Understanding of methodology for demodulating I/Q data
  • Previous experience in the security industry
  • Thorough understanding of signals analysis
  • Basic skills in cryptography and protocol reverse engineering
  • Experience developing software to interact with SDRs using Python, C/C++ and/or Rust
  • Interest in vulnerability research against low level radio protocols and devices
  • Applicants must be eligible for a DV UK Government security clearance
  • Ability to travel to Basingstoke and potentially other areas in the Southwest
