About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and oversee strategic development and real estate issues for project finance and M&A transactions
- Conduct and respond to due diligence inquiries
- Draft, review, and manage development and real estate closing deliverables
- Oversee review of title commitments, title proformas, title policies, and surveys
- Provide analyses, support, and supervision for title curative work
- Manage legal development issues covering project design, site control, permitting, regulatory, real estate, and interconnection matters
- Draft, maintain, and administer site-access processes and policies
- Interface with Google energy and real estate attorneys
- Engage executives, the internal risk committee, external third parties, and stakeholders to support development transactions and key contracts
- Manage and develop in-house development and real estate legal teams
- Manage outside development and real estate legal counsel
- Participate in broader legal-team tasks as requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Current license to practice law
- Experience negotiating various agreements in the renewable energy industry
- Ability to analyze complex issues and advise internal business partners appropriately
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment while managing more than one project at a time
- Ability to handle pressure, work independently, and follow through on tasks to completion in a timely manner
- Prior experience managing lawyers and paralegals
