About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate and maintain the Deuel County Energy Center
- Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines and associated equipment
- Climb wind turbine towers daily to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment
- Understand electrical and mechanical functions of wind turbine generator components and associated equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and repair or replace components
- Maintain company tooling, facilities, and equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work varying schedules during peak maintenance periods
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Ability to climb ladders without assistance and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet)
- Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds)
- Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Must pass drug testing and receive a negative result before beginning work
- Must be able to perform safety-sensitive work
- Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and scheduled and unscheduled overtime
