About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate and maintain the Forward Wind Energy Center
  • Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines and associated equipment
  • Climb wind turbine towers daily to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment
  • Understand the electrical and mechanical functions of wind turbine generator components and associated equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and repair or replace components
  • Maintain company tooling, facilities, and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Work a 40-hour week and scheduled or unscheduled overtime, with varying schedules during peak maintenance periods

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Ability to climb ladders without assistance and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet)
  • Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds)
  • Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must pass a drug test with a negative result before beginning work
