About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain backend services in Python 3.11 with Django / DRF
Automate back-office processes and workflows with Product, Compliance and Business teams
Question proposed solutions and help shape the right solution before building it
Design and improve REST APIs for internal and external integrations
Work with MySQL and Redis to improve performance, reliability and scalability
Investigate and resolve production issues, find bottlenecks and reduce technical debt
Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decisions
Improve development processes and internal tooling
Maintain high standards for code quality, testing and engineering practices
Work with Git and CI/CD pipelines, including TeamCity and GitHub Actions
Own problems end-to-end and drive solutions through to production
Collaborate with a lean engineering team without people management responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of backend development experience
Strong Python skills and good knowledge of Django or a similar framework
Solid understanding of relational databases, caching, REST APIs and service design
Experience troubleshooting production issues
Ability to take a task and see it through independently
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD practices and modern development workflows
Good communication and problem-solving skills
English at B2 level or higher
Fluent Russian
Nice to have: experience in fintech, regulated industries or internal B2B tools
Nice to have: AWS and Docker
Nice to have: message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
Nice to have: open-source contributions or side projects
